Golden Fried Milk

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Milk

  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup Sugar

Breading Station Ingredients:

  • 1 Egg

  • Cornstarch

  • Plain Panko Breadcrumbs

Serve With:

  • Powdered Sugar

  • Honey

Preparation

Step 1

Bring milk to a boil over medium-high heat in the saucepan.


Step 2

Add in Cornstarch and Sugar, and whisk to combine.


Step 3

Simmer 3-5 minutes while stirring frequently. Be sure to get in the corners of the pot or it will scald to the bottom. The texture will become similar to pudding.


Step 4

Line a mold or dish with parchment/wax paper and pour in the milk. If you are adding variations to this, stir in your variation before pouring into the dish.


Step 5

Cover with more Wax Paper to block out moisture and Refrigerate at least 2 hours, up to overnight.


Step 6

Cut firmed milk into desired shape.


Step 7

Bread the milk by coating it in a dish of cornstarch, then a dish of a whisked egg, them finally in a dish of plain panko breadcrumbs.


Step 8

Fry the Milk until Golden and serve with optional Powdered Sugar and Honey Drizzle!
